Leaders in Learning

Welcome to Leaders in Learning!

An exciting opportunity is offered to pupils at Elsenham C. of E. Primary: to lead their own learning and that of others.

Children are being selected (after written applications) to work with Subject Leaders to plan and deliver group sessions for children younger than them. All year groups are taking part in the scheme so they can share their learning and expertise.

Key Skills for Leaders in Learning include:

  • Patience
  • Consideration
  • Encouragement
  • Thirst for lifelong learning

Have you got what it takes? These children have! Take a look below at the type of activities completed since the initiative's introduction.

Here are our Leaders in Learning (below)! This group of passionate pupils have an important role to play in our school. They are working in small teams to inspire all of our pupils to learn more about some of their favourite subjects (Including; science, art, history, geography, D&T, computing, P.E., PSHE and music). Our Leaders in Learning will meet weekly to plan exciting sessions that they will deliver to other pupils during the next half term. They are VERY keen to share their knowledge and expertise with others. Watch this space for more updates coming soon!

‘Leaders in Learning’ Autumn 2026

Together, we are all working towards our children being confident and independent learners who have the courage to seize all opportunities available to them both now and in the future.  Every one of our children is special, with talents and strengths in a variety of areas.  To enable them to be successful we provide children with the opportunity to become a ‘leader in learning’ in an area they feel passionate about.

‘Leaders in Learning’ will work alongside a member of staff to plan and carry out a lesson/ skill/ service that they feel will benefit the children in our school community. ‘Leaders in learning’ will gain the confidence, skills and experience needed to help prepare them for the next stages in their education and their future.
