History

Our intent is to inspire children’s curiosity as historians.

We provide a broad and ambitious history curriculum, rich in skills and knowledge, which immerses children in a range of cultures and engenders enquiry. We aim for pupils to develop an appreciation and understanding of the past, both locally and globally, so that they can make meaningful links to the present day.

Our First Leader in Learning Session!

Piper and Isabel are our Leaders in Learning for History.  During their session, they focused on a topic from Year 1 – Dinosaurs. They taught the children all about the platypus and how it has remained from dinosaur times through to present-day. They then asked the children to spot the differences between

pictures of the mammals and how and why they had changed over millions of years.  We then played a game of dinosaur archery.  Each fact they remembered gave them an arrow to shoot.  There were a lot of arrows !
