Music

Music

The music curriculum is designed to allow children to participate in a range of musical experiences and enrichment opportunities, which develop and inspire musical appreciation. Children gain a deep understanding of what the music curriculum entails, whilst also developing an appreciation for various genres, composers and musical styles.

Leaders in Learning

Our music Leaders in Learning planned and delivered a lesson with a group of Year 5 children. They created a PowerPoint all by themselves and then taught the group how to learn and sing the song 'Happy' by Pharrel. It was fantastic to see the Leaders in Learning instilling confidence in the group of Year 5 children, and encouraging them to perform solos and dance moves.

Jeff Rich  from Status Quo at Elsenham C. Of E. Primary School

Jeff Rich, former drummer of Status Quo, visited KS2 on earlier this term. He introduced us to a range of drums from across the world and history. Jeff got us all up and playing to the rhythm of his drum playing. We had a fantastic time and it was an amazing opportunity for all the children.

Young Voices

Every year, Year 5 after months of excitedly rehearsing, attend the Young Voices concert at the O2. This is a fantastic opportunity for the children to perform as part of a huge choir and it is something that the children in the younger year groups look forward to!
